Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal had a wonderful personality and he was multi-talented, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has said.
“Sheikh Kamal has given a lot to this country in his short span of life,” Momen said at a doa mahfil organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs marking the 74th birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“Sheikh Kamal had a very polite and kind personality. He had a strong interest in sports. He also had a great interest in cultural activities. He was directly involved in the sports and cultural activities of the university. He was very dear to everyone because of his beautiful manner. And he was always there to help others,” he said.
“It is sad that five of the self-confessed killers of August 15 are still absconding abroad. We are making all-out efforts to bring back the fugitive killers to implement the court’s verdict,” the minister added.
Besides, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of his family who laid down their lives on August 15, 1975, including Sheikh Kamal.
Earlier, on Saturday morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s eldest son, freedom fighter Shaheed Sheikh Kamal, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen along with senior officials of the ministry placed wreaths at the portrait of Sheikh Kamal and his family members at Banani graveyard.
