Prominent journalist and Editor of the daily Janakantha Atikullah Khan Masud died of cardiac arrest at 5:30 am on Monday. He was 71.
“He was on the way to Evercare Hospital in the capital,” Chief Reporter of Janakatha Uttam Chakrabarti told the Business Insider Bangladesh.
Atikullah Khan, also Chairman of the Globe Janakantha Shilpa Paribar, left behind his wife, two sons, grandchildren and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Cantonment Jam-e-Mosque after Zuhr prayer, reports UNB.
Later, his body will be kept at the mortuary of BIRDEM Hospital in the capital.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed a deep shock and sorrow at the death of Atikullah Khan Masud.
She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to his bereaved family.
Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin also expressed profound shock at the demise of Atikullah Khan.
