Director of Department of Environment Syed Nazmul Ahsan passes away

Syed Nazmul Ahsan, director of the Department of Environment, has died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. He was 56.
He breathed his last around 5:30 pm on Wednesday due to heart failure, according to family members.
He left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
He joined the government service in 1996 and worked in various important positions in the Department of Environment.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury, minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and Dr Farhina Ahmed secretary of the ministry expressed their grave condolences over the death and sought eternal peace for the departed soul.
They also extended sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Nazmul Ahsan dedicated himself to improving the air quality of the country while serving as the director of the air quality branch at the Department of Environment headquarters. The untimely passing of such a dedicated and good-hearted officer like him is deeply painful, Saber Hossain said.
