Sadat Rahman wins International Children’s Peace Prize 2020

Sadat Rahman and his project funded under the “Youth Innovation Challenge 2019” organised by ActionAid Bangladesh, have received the International Children’s Peace Prize 2020.

The prize was handed over in an online ceremony by the Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai on Friday.

ActionAid Bangladesh organised the youth innovation challenge to promote leadership among the young people on their positive and innovative initiatives for social change, reads a press release.

Sadat and his organisation “Narail Volunteers” developed a mobile application to protect children and girls from cyber bullying.

This application has bridged a relationship among the local students, young people and local administration to address the issue.

KidsRights Foundation initiated this International Children’s Peace Prize in 2005 for the children who make an outstanding contribution on claiming rights of the children and promoting their safety.

Last year, this award was won by young climate activist Greta Thunberg of Sweden and Divina Maloum of Cameroon.
