A workshop organised by Abul Khair Steel, a leading player in Bangladesh's construction steel market, was held in Dinajpur on May 19, where speakers vented their anger at the government.
Speakers at the programme blamed the government for using the country’s businessmen to gain its petty political interest.
Alongside the speakers, over a hundred construction workers and architects also participated in the workshop.
They said it is a new trick of the ruling quarter to use the country’s businessmen to ensure its political gain.
While addressing the programme, Arifur Rahman, marketing officer of Abul Khair Steel, branded the government as corrupt, citing some instances of its indulgence in corruption.
Some officials from this company have been spreading misleading information at the grassroots level across the area over the past few months in the name of arranging workshops.
This very person also hatched efforts to instigate people in the area using religion as an instrument and making speeches tarnishing the country’s image.
participants have also opposed the political speeches and, at one point, left the workshops.
It may be a new trick of the opposition party to carry out anti-government campaigns in the name of arranging workshops at grassroots levels, experts said.
The guests have also distributed certificates and gifts among the participants of the workshops.
