Bangladesh reports 21 deaths, 2,139 fresh Covid-19 cases

Bangladesh reported 21 deaths from Covid-19 and 2,139 new positive cases on Monday.

With this, the number of positive cases now stands at 434,472 and the number of deaths reached 6,215, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The fatality rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh is currently 1.43 percent.

DGHS further said that 1,604 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients so far is 351,146, which is 80.82 percent of the total infected.

According to the Worldometer data, 54,893,874 cases of coronavirus have been detected worldwide. The number of deaths reached 1,325,404 and 38,183,988 recovered from the virus.

The website further shows that there are currently 15,384,482 active cases of Covid-19 across the globe. Ninety-nine percent of the patients are in mild condition, while one percent of the patients are in critical condition.

The US is the country with most numbers of Covid-19 positive cases, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
