Legendary actress Kabori laid to rest at Banani graveyard

Sarah Begum Kabori was laid to rest at Banani graveyard in Dhaka following a namaz-e-janaza held after Zuhr prayer there on Saturday.
The legendary film actress was also given a gourd of honor following the due manner.
Kabori breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital in Dhaka 12:20am due to Covid-19 infection, according to doctors.
After testing Covid-19 positive on April 5, she was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital.
On April 8, the award winning film star was transferred to the Sheikh Russel hospital, as her condition deteriorated.
She was on life support for more than a week there, according to Kabori’s son.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed their deep condolences at the death of movie actress-producer of Bengali silver screen.
In 1964, she started her acting career at the age of 13 with prominent filmmaker Subhas Dutta's ‘Shutorang'. Kabori produced her first film 'Aina' in 2006.
She was born on July 19, 1950 in Chattogram's Boalkhali. She won the national election in 2008 from Narayanganj-4 parliamentary constituency on the Awami League ticket.
