Bangladesh records 2,275 new Covid-19 cases, 17 deaths

Bangladesh on Friday recorded 2,275 new cases of Covid-19, taking the total number of infections from the disease to 443,434.

With 17 fatalities added in the last 24 hours, the overall death toll in the country from coronavirus reached 6,322, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 15,607 samples were tested at 117 authorized laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours.

So far, 2,622,559 samples have been tested since the detection of the first Covid-19 case in the Bangladesh.

After another 1,709 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday morning, the total number of recovered patients rose to 358,431.

Of the 17 deaths, 11 were male and six were female, aged between 11 to over 60 years old.

Division-wise data reveals that in the last 24 hours, 12 of the deaths from Covid-19 took place in Dhaka division, two in Rangpur and one each in Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet, according to the DGHS.
