5 Eid jamaats to be held at Baitul Mukarram

A total of five Eid jamaat will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on the day of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr by maintain health guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The first Eid jamaat will be held around 7:00am where Mawlana Mizanur Rahman will lead the congregation while the second one will be led by Hafez Mufti Mawlana Muhibullahil Baki Nadvi around 8:00am, said a press release of Islamic Foundation.
The third Eid jamaat will be held around 9:00am and Hafez Mawlana Ehsanul Haq will lead the jamaat at the national mosque.
The fourth one will be held around 10:00am and Mawlana Mahiuddin Kashem will lead the congregation and the fifth and the last Eid jamaat will be held around 10:45am where Hafez Mawlana Waliur Rahman Khan will lead the jamaat.
No jamaat will be held at the National Eidgah this year as part of the government decision to contain the spread of the virus.
On May 14, the Minister of Religious Affairs issued a notification that suggested the devotees disinfecting their mosques before the Eid prayers and not rolling out carpets on the floors.
The devotees have been urged to bring prayer mats from home. Besides, arrangements should be made at the entrances of the mosques for washing hands, the notification said.
The devotees must wear masks inside mosques and avoid using prayer mats and caps that were stored earlier there.
Children, elderly people, people with physical ailment and those who are involved in taking care of the sick will not be allowed to attend the Eid prayer.
Apart from these, the devotees were requested to shun handshaking and hugging after the prayer which has been a common practice throughout the world.
