Casino Khalid has illegal assets worth Tk43 cr

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) approved the charge sheet of former Awami Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan on Monday.
According to the charge sheet, Khalid earned Tk42.75 crore illegally and laundered Tk8.74 crore abroad, reports Prothom Alo quoting ACC Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.
He also said that the charge sheet will be presented before the court soon.
Earlier on September 18 last year, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Khalid Mahmud from his Gulshan residence for illegally running the Young Men’s’ casino in the capital’s Fakirapool area. Jubo League suspended him after the arrest.
Shortly after the arrest, the anti-corruption graft stepped in and started investigating his assets.
