Sangbad acting editor Muniruzzaman passes away

Khandaker Muniruzzaman, acting editor of Daily Sangbad, died this morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mugda area of Dhaka. He was 72.

He breathed his last at around 7:20am at Mugda General Hospital, a source of the newspaper said.

After being diagnosed with coronavirus infection, he was undergoing treatment at the hospital for at least 21 days and recovered from the infection.

He leaves behind a wife, a son and a host of relatives to mourn his death.  

Soon after the news, people from different classes and professions including journalist communities expressed deep shock over the death and extended sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Muniruzzaman started journalism in 1970 when he was a student of Dhaka University. At the same time, he got involved with left-leaning politics.
