Govt decides to ban battery-run rickshaw, van

The government on Sunday decided to ban battery-run rickshaw and van.

The decision came during a meeting of Sarak Paribahan Taskforce formed to strengthen discipline on roads and reduce accidents, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said after the meeting.

He said that the ministry concerned will issue an order in this regard.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also said that the government will install CCTV cameras on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway to reduce irregularities on the route.
