Covid-19: 35 die, 2,316 infected in 24hrs in Bangladesh

Some 35 more patients died after being infected with coronavirus while around 2,316 people were infected with the virus at different parts of the country in the last 24 hours ending 8:00am on Thursday.
With the latest number, the total death case reached 6,748, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) this afternoon.
Besides, the number of infection, with the latest tally, stood at 4, 71,739 at present, the DGHS said in the press release.
Around 16,807 samples were tested at the government authorised laboratories across the country during the same time.
The DGHS in its daily tally projected death rate 1.43 percent and infection rate 13.78 percent at present.
During the same period, around 2,593 people, who were undergoing treatment at different hospitals, were discharged after their recoveries, the DGHS said.
In Bangladesh, the first coronavirus case was detected on March 8 and the first death case was recorded just after 10 days of the same month.
