Ctg court denied bail for ex-SP Babul Akter in wife Mitu murder case

A Chattogram court has denied bail for former Superintend of Police Babul Akter in his wife Mitu murder case.
In a virtual session, Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin denied the bail on Tuesday.
M Azmul Huda, lawer of Babul AKter, confirmed the matter to the media and said legal attempt would be taken further to get the bail.
On June 5, 2016, Mahmuda Khatun Mitu, wife of Babul Akter, stabbed and shot dead when she was walking with her son near GEC intersection in Chattogram city.
After the murder, husband of the victim, Babul Akter filed a case against some unidentified persons with the Panchalish Police station.
On May 12, this year, father of Mitu, Mosharraf Hossain filed another case against eight people including main accused Babul Akter under the same police station.
Police handed over the case to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and according to their interrogation and custody Babul Akter is in Jail.
