Dhaka (Dec 5, 2020): Some 35 more patients died while 1,888 people tested positive for novel coronavirus afresh across the country in the last 24 hours ending 8:00am on Saturday.

With the fresh death and infection cases, the total death tally from the virus stood at 6,807 and the infection at 4, 75,879, said a press statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the 24 hours, around 13, 540 samples were tested at different the government authorizes laboratories across the country and 1, 888 cases found positive, it said.

According to the results of the test, the infection rate from the disease reaches 13. 94 percent, DGHS said in the statement.

From the total of 4, 75,879 infection cases, around 3, 93,408 people were released after their recoveries from the disease, according to the statement.

In Bangladesh, the first coronavirus case was detected on March 8 and the first death case was recorded just after 10 days of the same month.
