Selim Al Deen’s birth anniversary on Wednesday

The 72nd birth anniversary of the late legendary dramatist and theoretician Selim Al Deen will be celebrated on Wednesday.

Jahangirnagar University’s drama and dramatics department will place floral wreaths on Selim Al-Deen’s grave on JU campus, said a press release.

On this occasion, Natya Sangathan Swapnadal has organised a two-day ‘Natyacharya Selim Al Deen Birth Anniversary 2021’ online on Wednesday and Thursday.

Selim Al Deen, born in 1949, was a Bangladeshi playwright and theatre artist. He was the founder chairperson of the Department of Drama and Dramatics at Jahangirnagar University. Deen was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1984 and Ekushey Padak in 2007 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to theatre.
