5 held for murdering a youth in Chattogram

Police have arrested five youths from the South Kattali area under Pahartali police station, Chattogram for their involvement in the killing of another youth three days ago.

The arrestees were identified as M Shah Alam, 19, M Mobarak Hossain, 19, M Aminul Islam Tuhin, 20, M Mobarak Hossain Shakil, 19, and Amir Hossain, 20.

Hasan Imam, Officer-in-Charge of Pahartali police station confirmed the news.

He said that acting on a tip-off, a team of Pahartali police conducted a drive in the area on Tuesday afternoon and arrested them.

Earlier on Sunday, Mahabub had allegedly been stabbed by the arrestees, following an altercation regarding illicit drugs. After the incident, all the arrestees went into hiding.
