Dhaka (Nov 3, 2020): The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) today condemned the Bank Asia for its acts of harassment on a sub-judice matter in the name of debt recovery.
“We are shocked at the action of Bank Asia on a sub-judice matter that projects disrespect to our judiciary,” Sheikh Fazle Fahim, president of the FBCCI said in a press statement this afternoon.
“It is a discourteous attitude and sample of misbehaviors of many banks towards the MSME that has been made public through news reports,” said Fahim.
According to a media report, employees of Bank Asia have harassed and unlawfully raided the home of an industrialist in Chittagong in the name of debt recovery.
One of the team members of the bank was calling the industrialist using a loudspeaker and locked into a quarrel with him in his industrial zone, Fahim said.
FBCCI took the matter into it account and will ask the bank talking in this regard, he added.
