BB appoints two deputy governors

Kazi Sayedur Rahman, executive director of Bangladesh Bank has been promoted as the deputy governor of the central bank.
Besides, AKM Sajedur Rahman, managing director of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, has been picked for the same post.
They have been appointed on contract basis, said a circular signed by Md Jehad Uddin, deputy secretary of Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, floated for media this afternoon.
They would be in charge of their deputy governor posts until their 62 years of age, the circular said.
According to the terms and conditions, Sayedur Rahman will remain in charge till January 1, 2025 while Sajedur Rahman till February 1, 2024, it added.
At present, there are four deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank, and of the four, SM Moniruzzaman’s term will end next month.
