BRAC Bank MD elected ABB vice-president

Selim RF Hussain, the managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank, has been elected the vice-chairman of the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB).

Meanwhile, Managing Director and CEO of the City Bank Limited Mashrur Arefin became the new secretary-general of ABB.

Both of the announcements came at the 23rd Annual General Meeting of ABB held virtually recently in the city.

ABB board of governors unanimously nominated the duo after both of the position fell vacant due to the resignation of the respective persons from their banks, a press release from BRAC Bank says.

ABB, a forum of managing directors of the private banks in Bangladesh, is also a bankers’ platform that focuses on different contemporary issues and provides essential recommendations to the banks and regulatory authorities.

The meeting was presided over by ABB Chairman Ali Reza Iftekhar, who is also the managing director of Eastern Bank Limited.
