Red bank note of Tk 1,000 will not go obsolete: BB

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has said it is only a rumour that the red-coloured note of Tk 1,000 denomination will be obsolete at the end of this month.
The central bank issued a notification for public interest in this regard on Wednesday.
The central bank said it came to know that a quarter has spread the rumour on social media like Facebook.
However, the BB did not make any such disclosure and urged the citizens to ignore the rumour.
