Banks and stocks will remain closed Monday-Wednesday

Banks, stock markets, and financial institutions will remain closed for three days from Monday during the general holiday, Bangladesh Bank (BB) announced on Sunday.

“Banks and financial institutions will remain closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during the general holidays,” said BB Spokesperson Md Mezbaul Haque.

The announcement comes after the government declared a nationwide indefinite curfew starting at 6 pm on Sunday in response to a new wave of violence across the country.

Earlier in the day, the government announced three days of general holidays from Monday to ensure public safety amid the evolving situation.
