Nagad to provide all digital services on single platform

Nagad, the mobile financial service of the Bangladesh Post Office, has announced its determination to provide all everyday digital services on its platform.
In this regard, the fastest growing digital financial service provider has rolled out a new campaign “Everything is possible with Nagad.”
Nagad users can already make online purchases, pay utility bills, and deposit insurance premiums using the platform. Now, it is working to include all other necessary services to the platform shortly, reads a press release.
Initially, users were able to open Nagad accounts through digital know your customer service. Now they can open an account within a few seconds just by dialling *167# and setting up the PIN.
Nagad has also been working tirelessly during the pandemic to make lives easier by allowing customers to make payments while availing any emergency services. This is keeping crores of families safe from the deadly virus, the press release adds.
The state-run MFS provider has also signed partnership deals with about 12,000 merchants all across the country and about 500 e-commerce platforms. As its cash-out charge is the lowest at Tk9.99 per Tk1,000 withdrawal, Nagad is a popular platform for all transactions.
Nagad has also forged partnerships with delivery companies and introduced an innovative service in association with delivery firm Paperfly where customers can make payments through Nagad for purchases after getting a product.
Tanvir A Mishuk, managing director of Nagad, said, “We are working hard to put in place a successful digital ecosystem. The only way to achieve the goal is to ensure digital payments.
“Nagad is offering various attractive offers, including cash-back, to expand digital commerce. Nagad has recently embraced the tagline of “Everything is possible with Nagad” to encourage people to lead a digital life and develop the digital culture in the country,” he added.
Nagad introduced the maiden digital market for sacrificial animals during last Eid-ul-Azha in partnership with the E-commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).
The company has also played an essential role in the transportation of crops produced by farmers during the pandemic; Nagad has taken steps to supply farm produce from the villages to the various digital platforms using vehicles of the post office.
Furthermore, Nagad is the only MFS operator through which one can deposit the fee for Covid-19 tests. About 2.5 lakh people have paid the fees through the platform in the last six months.
Relatives of prisoners can even send money to the jail authorities for the inmates though the platform.
Two hundred garment factories disbursed wages and salaries to their workers and employees during the lockdown period using Nagad. Eleven charitable organizations have collected donations through Nagad. People can even pay school and college tuition fees via the platform.
