Street children grow up unnoticed and neglected in the society. They cannot even dream about buying anything from a supershop, even if they desire.
With this in mind, supershop ‘Shwapno’ took an initiative to fulfil the wishes of more than 50 street children in the port city of Chattogram.
An event titled ‘Shop with Cop’, arranged by CMP (Chattogram Metropolitan Police) and in collaboration with Shwapno, was organised for street children at Golpahar outlet of Shwapno on Wednesday, reads a press release.
Essential food items as gifts were handed out to 60 street children at the event.
Shamsuddoha Shemul, Director of Retail Expansion of Shwapno, said, “Shwapno has always stood by the disadvantaged people of the country. Shwapno is working for a beautiful childhood and future for the less fortunate children.”
“As part of it, we are happy to stand by the street children in Chattogram.”
CMP Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, PPM; Deputy Commissioner of police (North) Vijay Basak, BPM, PPM (Bar); and Additional Deputy Commissioner (North) Nadira Noor, among others, were present at the event.
On behalf of Shwapno, Sohel Moinuddin Shoibal, head of corporate affairs and employee welfare, was also present.
In line with its commitment of Mujibarsho, ‘Mujib Barsher Ongikar, Police Hobe Janatar’ (Commitment of Mujib Year, Police will be people friendly), CMP arranged this event to fulfil the wishes of the underprivileged children of the society with the help of Shwapno.
