bKash provides ventilators to Central Police Hospital

Mobile financial service provider bKash has donated six ventilators to the Central Police Hospital (CPH) in Dhaka to facilitate the Covid-19 treatment.

This donation is a part of the ongoing effort of bKash to provide the leading hospitals with necessary medical equipment, reads a press release issued on Monday.

Humayun Kabir, head of regulatory and corporate affairs at bKash, handed over the ventilators to the CPH authorities. AKM Monirul Karim, head of external affairs of bKash, and Dr Md Azharul Islam Talukder, doctor in-charge of the CPH, were present, among others.

bKash had previously handed over 24 ventilators to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the Dhaka Shishu Hospital and the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, and installed an oxygen plant at the Diabetic Hospital (BIHS General Hospital).

Earlier, the leading mobile financial service provider handed over 50 ventilators and around 650,000 emergency health toolkits, donated by the Alibaba Foundation and the Jack Ma Foundation, to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

At the same time, bKash provided food aid to 5,000 families under the supervision of the Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS). The organisation also helped in the construction of Bidyananda Foundation’s hospital.

More hospitals will be provided with emergency medical equipment under the ongoing initiative of bKash as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), adds the release.
