ICMAB, DCCI team up for training and research

ICMAB, DCCI team up for training and research

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) have signed an agreement for mutually beneficial activities.

Md Jasim Uddin Akond, president of ICMAB and Shams Mahmud, president of DCCI, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ICMAB Bhaban, on behalf of their respective organisations on Tuesday.

Under the MoU, both organisations will jointly work and collaborate on training courses, seminars, workshops, business conferences, job fairs, etc.

Research activities will be conducted in a mutually agreed manner by both organisations, reads a press release.

ICMAB students will get waivers in different training courses conducted by DCCI. Both of the organisations will share knowledge management and provide appropriate instructors for different programmes according to the need.

DCCI President Shams Mahmud said that signing the MoU will usher a new opportunity for both the organizations to work together for the betterment of business community.

He also appreciated the professionals of ICMAB for their hard work to ensure transparency in the financial system of a company. He also called upon ICMAB to work closely with the industries and firms to strengthen relations.

ICMAB President Jasim Uddin emphasised ensuring cost audit certification by professional cost management accounting firms or professionals for every listed companies. He also mentioned about certification of “cost of goods sold” statement by CMA professionals.

He said that CMA professionals can create a great impact by putting their expertise to ensuring clarity in various economic aspects. He expressed great hope that with this new relation with a vibrant organisation like DCCI, CMA professionals will be able to create a positive impact in our business sector with their technical inputs.

Among others, Vice President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and past president of ICMAB AKM Delwer Hussain, ICMAB Vice President Abu Bakar Siddique, Vice President Md Mamunur Rashid, Secretary Md Munirul Islam, Treasurer Md Ali Haider Chowdhury, ICMAB Council Member and Joint Secretary of Finance Ministry Md Mahful Alam Khan, DCCI Senior Vice President NKA Mobin, DCCI Vice President Mohammad Bashiruddin, and Convenor Golam Zialani, were also present at he signing ceremony.
