The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) and the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce expressed their interests to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost bilateral trade and investment.
The FBCCI disclosed this in a press release after Ambassador of Kosovo to Bangladesh Gunar Urea paid a courtesy call on FBCCI President Md Jasim Uddin at the Federation Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.
A draft MoU between the two business bodies was handed over to Ambassador Gunnar Urea on the occasion, said the release.
In the meeting with Jashim Uddin, Gunar highlighted the economic and trade potential of Kosovo.
He also expressed his interest in investing in joint ventures with Bangladesh.
“The European Union has given Kosovo a duty-free market. So, if you invest in the country, it will be positive for Bangladesh after the LDC transition,” the Kosovo business leader said.
FBCCI president said the opportunities for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to invest abroad are still somewhat regulated, although a number of companies have set up factories abroad.
“The FBCCI is actively working to bring relaxation in this regard,” he added.
