Power sector company Energypac has arranged a webinar to raise awareness among people of river safety.
The virtual seminar emphasises ensuring its cleanliness, and the safety of the river transportations used for communication, said a press release.
Dr Sajid Hossain, a commandant at the Bangladesh Marine Academy, graced the webinar as chief guest in which Humayun Rashid, CEO of Energypac Power Generation, Captain Md Ruhul Amin, chief operating officer of shipping and logistics at Bashundhara Group, Md Sirajul Islam, chairman of SST Marin Solutions, and Mohammad Masum Parvez, the chief business officer of power and energy division at Energypac, took part.
They delivered insightful speeches focusing on river pollution, water transportations, the importance of saving rivers and came up with hands-on suggestions.
“If we want to save our civilisation, we have to save our rivers,” said Humayun Rashid.
“Rivers are also a source of income for us, which has the potential to ensure our economic growth,” he added.
He urged all to cooperate in keeping the rivers safe and pollution-free.
