Unilever Bangladesh, Plan International Bangladesh have jointly launched ‘Dove Self-Esteem Project', as part of their efforts to help Bangladeshi adolescent explore their full potential, marking the International Girl Child Day 2021.

Besides, the two organisations, in association with Children Affairs Journalists’ Network (CAJN), organised a roundtable discussion on the occasion, said a press release.

Meher Afroz Chumki, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ram Chandra Das, director-general of the Department of Women Affairs, Saiful Islam, editor of the Daily Jugantor, Orla Murphy, country director of Plan International Bangladesh, Zaved Akhtar, chief executive officer and managing director of Unilever Bangladesh, and Mahfuza Jasmine, president of the Children's Affairs Journalists Network were present, among others, at the event.

This year the day is being observed with the theme, Digital Generation, Our Generation.

This day not only targets issues such as child marriage, inequity in education, sexual health rights, unfairness in domestic work, and gender-based violence, but it also broadens the movement's horizons on a global scale, it added.
