BATB wins President’s Award for Industrial Development 2018

BAT Bangladesh earned the prestigious President’s Award for Industrial Development 2018 under “Large Manufacturing” category on Monday at the capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
The President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid was virtually present during the handover of the President's Award for Industrial Development 2018, given under six categories, for notable contributions towards the national economy.
Head of Legal and External Affairs of BATB Mubina Asaf received the award from the chief guest Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, member of parliament and Minister of Industries at the formal award giving ceremony.
Mubina Asaf thanked Bangladesh Government, especially the Ministry of Industries, for recognising BAT Bangladesh for such a prestigious award.
“This award is a true testament to BAT Bangladesh’s continuous drive for excellence in making a significant contribution to the country’s industrial development. ‘Human Capital’ is the most valuable asset of our company,” she said, adding that BAT Bangladesh is working towards building skilled human resources.
“We have been emphasising on skill development training for our employees alongside technological investments for the past 10 years,” she added.
BAT Bangladesh is currently managing its overall operational and business activities with domestic talents.
Out of the total 1,500 employees of BATB, only three are foreigners. In addition, more than 50 talents from BAT Bangladesh are now working in different countries across the globe, she further said.
President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Sheikh Fazle Fahim and Industries State Minister Kamal Ahmed Majumder were present as special guests, while Ministry of Industries Secretary K M Ali Azam presided over the event.
