ACI gets approval to export drug to USA

ACI Healthcare Limited, a subsidiary of ACI Limited, a pharmaceutical and chemical company listed on the stock exchange, has been granted permission to sell a drug in the US market.

In a filing to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, the company said that on April 27, the USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent a letter confirming the approval.

The FDA has allowed ACI Healthcare Limited to export Gabapentin to the United States. Gabapentin is produced at the factory of ACI Healthcare Limited at Sonargaon in Narayanganj.

The company further said that the factory of ACI Healthcare located in Sonargaon is mainly an export-oriented unit.

The factory was set up to harness the huge potential of the international drug market. This will positively impact pharmaceutical export, ACI said.

Meanwhile, the company’s earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 0.44 in the Q3, up from Tk 0.30 recorded in the same period a year earlier.

As of March 31, 2022, the company’s net asset value (NAV) per share stood at Tk 140.61 against Tk 141.43 as of June 30, 2021.

The company reported consolidated EPS of Tk 5.95 for the first nine months of the current financial year (July ’21-March ’22), up from Tk 3.07 a year ago.

The company also informed that the group achieved significant revenue growth, mainly due to the sales growth in some of its business segments.

The higher growth in consolidated revenue compared to the growth in expenses contributed to the increase in consolidated profit compared to the same period of the last year.
