Bashundhara MD promises permanent office for CRAB

The Executive Committee of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) paid a courtesy call on Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Sunday.
The CRAB leaders led by CRAB President Mirza Mehedi Tamal paid the courtesy call at Bashundhara Group MD’s residence. Members of the CRAB Advisory Council were present at the time, according to a statement.
During the meeting, CRAB General Secretary Asaduzzaman Biku presented the organisation’s expectations on behalf of the executive committee.
The Managing Director of Bashundhara Group listened to their expectation attentively.
CRAB’s Chief Adviser Shankar Kumar Dey, Advisers Khairuzzaman Kamal, SM Abul Hossain, Parvez Khan, Madhusudan Mandal and Fakhrul Alam Kanchan also spoke.
Expressing his determination to be by the side of CRAB, Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, “Bashundhara Group has been contributing to the welfare of journalists as they are dedicated to the country and the nation. Bashundhara Group has already established several media houses to create jobs for journalists and develop honest, fearless and objective journalism.”
He promised to give CRAB a permanent office as soon as possible. He also promised to provide Tk 3 lakh to the family in case of death of a CRAB member, and a minimum assistance of Tk 50,000 if any CRAB member is seriously ill or injured while performing professional duties.
CRAB vice-president Muhammad Jahangir Alam, joint secretary Imran Hossain Sumon, finance secretary Saiful Islam Montu, organising secretary Ataur Rahman, office secretary Ismail Hussain Emu, publicity and publication secretary Rudra Russell, sports and cultural secretary SM Mintu Hossain, international secretary Shaheen Alam, executive members Sirajul Islam and Mohammad Zakaria and former general secretary of CRAB Dipu Sarwar were present during the call on.
