Aramit Cement declares dividend after 5 years

After five years, Aramit Cement Limited has announced to pay dividend to its shareholders.

The company recommended 5 percent cash dividend for the shareholders as final dividend for the year ended June 30, 2022, which has already been paid as interim dividend.

The dividend payout was recommended at the company’s board of directors meeting, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday.

However, final approval regarding the dividend will come during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for December 29, 2023, to b e held on digital platform.

The company has reported EPS of Tk (16.88) and consolidated NAV per share of Tk 12.58 during the period.

The record date for the distribution of the declared dividend among the shareholders has been fixed as December 5, 2022.

Aramit Cement last paid 12 percent cash dividend to shareholders in 2016, according to DSE data. Then from 2017 to 2021, no dividend was paid to the shareholders.

The company was in losses from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, it made a profit of Tk 0.60 per share but did not pay any dividend to the shareholders.

However, from July 2021 to June 30, 2022, it has decided to pay a dividend of 5 percent.
