BSJA sports carnival began Tuesday

The Walton-BSJA Sports Carnival 2024, organised by the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA), kicked off on Tuesday.

The week-long festival was inaugurated by FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, Senior Executive Director of the event's sponsor, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, along with Senior Deputy Executive Director Rabiul Islam Milton.

BSJA officials shared details of the event during a press conference held at the Dutch Bangla Bank Auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) on Sunday.

Convenor of the BSJA sports carnival, Raihan Al Mugni, and Member Secretary Rabiul Islam addressed the conference, with FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don also speaking at the event.

The carnival features seven sporting disciplines, including badminton, chess, shooting, swimming, call bridge, carom (singles and doubles), and table tennis (singles and doubles), exclusively for BSJA members.

The shooting event was held at the Hockey Stadium, badminton at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium, swimming at the Ivy Rahman Swimming Pool, while the remaining four—table tennis, carom, chess, and call bridge—were organized at the BSJA office located at the Bangabandhu National Stadium premises.

Winners of all events were awarded trophies and prize money, with the best player of the meet receiving a special award.
