Binayak Sen
The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) has appointed economist Binayak Sen as its director-general on Thursday.
He replaced KAS Murshid in the position.
Joined the BIDS in 1986, Sen was serving the organization as the research director.
The economist in his long carrier worked on labour markets, social security, poverty, income inequality, good governance, political economy and human development.
He also worked as a senior economist at the World Bank headquarters from 2004 to 2009.
The senior researcher also served the International Food Policy Research Institute, Asian Development Bank, the World Health organisation, JICA, UNSCAP, DFID and UNDP.
