Beximco Ltd posts 1883% rise in Q3 earnings

Beximco Limited, the flagship company of the Beximco Group, has witnessed unprecedented growth in its third-quarter earnings in the current fiscal year.

It reported its EPS stood at Tk 2.38 in Q3 (January-March) in the fiscal year 2020-2021, a massive increase of 1883% from Tk 0.12 recorded in the same period a year ago, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday.

“The business has gained this year as compared to the last year when everything came to a halt suddenly due to the coronavirus,” a senior official of Beximco told the Business Insider Bangladesh.

“But this year, despite the rising Corona’s impact, there was no stagnation,” he added.

In the first nine months of the fiscal year, its EPS was Tk. 4.30, up from Tk 0.66 in the corresponding period a year ago. However, its net operating cash flow per share was Tk 14.82, down from Tk 22.38 during the period.

Its NAV per share was Tk. 74.66 as of March 31, 2021, and Tk 69.46 as of March 31, 2020.

Beximco Group’s pharma unit has also reported hefty eranings riding on the income from the Covid-19 vaccine supply.
