Acquiring two power plant shares, United Power earns double in Q3

United Power Generation and Distribution Company’s third quarter (January-March 2021) earnings doubled as it acquired 99 percent shares of two power plants.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the company said that its consolidated earnings per share (EPS) was Tk5.33 for for the period, a hefty 100.37 percent increase from Tk 2.66 a year earlier.
Its consolidated EPS was Tk 14.83 in Q3 of 2021, against Tk 8.13 in the same period of the previous year.
The consolidated net operating cash flow (NOCFPS) was Tk 16.75 which was Tk 10.08 earlier.
Meanwhile, its consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share stood at Tk 52.20 as of March 31, 2021, and Tk 50.56 as of June 30, 2020.
In its filing, the company said that it acquired 99 percent shares of United Anwara Power (UAnPL) and United Jamalpur power (UJPL) with effect from July 01, 2020. UAnPL is a 300 MW power plant while UJPL is a 115 MW power plant.
