Runner Automobiles wins Superbrands 2020-21 accolade

Runner Automobiles Ltd has been recognised as a Superbrands for 2020-21, making it the first Bangladeshi motorcycle brand to receive this accolade.
In an instant video message on behalf of Runner Group, its Director Amid Sakif Khan said “Superbrands is one of the most successful global platforms for a brand. It has given Runner the encouragement to innovate more and drive its success in the export market.”
Reazul Haque Chowdhury, managing director and CEO of runner Automobiles, said, “This recognition as the first ever Superbrand in motorcycle category is not only the achievement of Runner but also the achievement of Bangladesh.
“We would like to dedicate this award to all our customers, dealers, suppliers and other stakeholders who have supported a ‘Made in Bangladesh’ brand become international,” he added.
Salman Fazlur Rahman, MP and Private Sector and Investment advisor to the prime minister, attended as the chief guest at the Superbrands Bangladesh 2020-21 grand online award ceremony on November 19, reads a press release.
Superbrands is a global arbiter for brands which operates in 90 countries around the world. Launched in 1994, Superbrands has become the most prominent success symbol for brands.
Runner Motorcycles is the market leader in sub 100CC two-wheeler market with models ranging between 80CC to 165CC, meeting the needs of all customer demographics.
It pioneered retail financing in the two-wheeler industry and enabled Bangladeshi riders to buy their bikes through affordable EMI schemes, the release adds.
Apart from the retail financing, Runner Motorcycles has a strong nationwide after-sales service network with over 200 service centres.
The Runner Driving Training Centre also provides free riding training to the aspiring new bike riders.
Furthermore, Runner is the only brand which is approved by the government to manufacture 500CC motorcycles in Bangladesh for the international market.
Apart from manufacturing their brand, the company is concurrently manufacturing American brand UM and is also the distributor of Italian flagship two-wheeler brands — Vespa and Aprilia.
The company is soon expected to introduce Europian flagship motorcycle brand KTM to Bangladeshi customers.
