Dhaka stocks opened higher on Thursday morning after the previous session’s rally.
The benchmark DSEX rose over 58 points or 1.14 percent at 5,154, while the DSES gained more than 9 points or 0.76 percent to 1,188 and blue-chip DS30 moved up 24 points or 1.38 percent.
The market rallied as investors continued to shrug off a new strain of coronavirus. But some were worried about the new vibrant of Covid-19 that could spread more rapidly, forcing some countries to cancel international flights and restrict movements.
The market was abuzz with the debut of Robi IPO—the largest in the history of the capital market. In the first 35 minutes of trade, turnover stood at over Tk 236 crore.
