Stocks end week slightly positive after 5-day fall

Stocks ended the day with modest gains of just 7 points to close the week at 4,846.

DSEX, the benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, saw a gain after five days of fall in a row.

United Power, Beximco Ltd and state-owned ICB were the prime positive index movers on DSE on Thursday.

Shinepukur Ceramics, Safko Spinning and Hwa Well Textiles topped the gainers-list. Prices of insurance stocks dropped 8 to 9 percent after a couple of months’ non-stop rally.

Total turnover came down to Tk 963 crore on Thursday from Tk 1,112 crore on the previous day.
