Stocks close higher, turnover down

Stocks finished slightly higher on Tuesday riding on banking sector shares.

Overall index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX closed the day at 4,928 points, up 9.63 points or 0.20 percent.

 Of 30 banks listed on DSE, 19 witnessed price hike, eight unchanged and only three fell.

Insurance sector which has been rallying for last couple of months seemed to loss demand from investors. Share prices of 19 insurance companies declined on Tuesday.

Over Tk 795 crore worth of shares transacted hands on DSE, down by nearly 11 percent from Monday.
