ICMAB celebrates Int’l Accounting Day

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has celebrated November 10th as International Accounting Day amid enthusiasm and festivity.

To mark the day, the ICMAB arranged a gathering at its official in Nilkhet area of Dhaka yesterday former presidents, council members, members, students and employees of the institute attended on this occasion.

Later in the evening, a discussion program was held where Prof Hamid Ullah Bhuiyan, chairman, Financial Reporting Council of Bangladesh attended as the chief guest.

In his speech Hamid Ullah said that the professional accountants have a big role for the clarity and development of economy.

He said that the cost auditing is a must not only for some particular organizations but also for every relevant organization.

He assured that he would take necessary steps for implementing the cost audit in relevant sector and creating congenial atmosphere for the CMA professionals according their competencies. 

Taking part in the programme ICMAB President Jasim Uddin Akond FCMA said that ICMAB is dedicated to play its due role for ensuring clarity and development of the local economy through practicing the cost and management accounting.

He also thanked Hamid Ullah for his presence at the programme and requested him to take a necessary step for implementing the cost audit at all limited companies and relevant organizations.

The program was moderated by AKM Kamruzzaman FCMA, council member of the ICMAB while its Secretary Md Munirul Islam FCMA gave his welcome address. Vote of thanks was given by Abu Bakar Siddique FCMA, vice-president of the ICMAB.

ICMAB is one of the members of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) while the Ministry of Commerce is its administrative ministry.
