SR Group`s 3 more restaurants evade Tk 7.14 crore Vat

In a latest drive VAT Intelligence Directorate has detected hiding of Tk 32.25 crore sales figures against three restaurants owned by SR Group.

Accordingly, Vat Intelligence filed three cases for a Vat evasion of about Tk7.13 crore.

The restaurants are - Sung Garden in the capital's Bijoy Nagar and two branches of Garlic ‘n Ginger in Dhanmondi and Jamuna Future Park.

The investigation conducted by VAT Intelligence found that these restaurants hid around Tk32.25 crore of sales data. 

Earlier in September, the VAT detectives uncovered that SR Group-owned restaurant Food Village Ltd and Food Village Plus, located on the Dhaka-Rangpur highways, evaded VAT worth Tk26 crore by hiding sales data of Tk200 crore.  

VAT Intelligence also found evidence of Tk3 crore VAT evasion against three branches of The Great Kabab Factory in Gulshan 2, Jamuna Future Park and Dhanmondi area, owned by the same group. 

With the complaint of VAT evasion, a team of VAT Intelligence, led by Deputy Director Nazmun Nahar Keiser and Ferdousi Mahbub, raided a house in the capital's Nikunja-1 and found the hidden sale data.
