DSE’s turnover again hits Tk 1,000cr-mark

Market ended flat on Thursday, but turnover in terms of value crossed Tk 1,000 crore in Dhaka Stock Exchange after 12 trading days.

A total of Tk 1,029 crore worth shares changed hands today. Before that DSE saw Tk 1,067 crore worth transactions on October 6.

At close, the DSEX ended 2 points lower to 4,914 points, while the DS30 index closed the day 3 points lower to 1,692 points.

But insurance sector continues to rally and attract investors.

Of the top 10 gainer-list, all were insurance stocks. This time two life insurance companies got the place in top 10 gainer-lists.

Price of Global Insurance rose by nearly 31 percent riding on dividend declaration. The company offered 10 percent dividend – 5 percent cash and 5 percent bonus share -- for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

Of the stocks traded, 106 witnessed price hike, 192 declined and 54 unchanged.
