India, Bangladesh to profit from Ctg port: Doraiswami

Northeastern parts of India and Bhutan and Nepal will be benefitted from using the Chattogram Port while both Bangladesh and India will make profits, said Vikram Doraiswami, high commissioner of India to Bangladesh.

He made the remark while speaking as the chief guest in a view exchange meeting with businessmen and officials and directors of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) at Bangabandhu Conference Hall on Sunday afternoon, reads a press release.

He also said that Chattogram will become an economic zone after some years and the long-lasting friendship between the two countries will foster more in the future.

Emphasising on the two to three years long plans, he said there are many more opportunities to work on port, infrastructure, communication and manufacturing between India and Bangladesh.

Presided over by Mahabubul Alam, president of CCCI, the event was addressed by CCCI directors SM Abu Tyub, Anjan Shekhar Das and Sayd M Thanvir, Managing Director of BSRM Amir Hussain, and Vice President of Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abida Mostafa, among others.
