Stocks open on positive note

Dhaka stocks opened on a positive on Monday following a third consecutive day of losses.

The DSEX was up 13 points or 0.26 percent to 5,087, while the DSES rose about 3 points or 0.24 percent to 1,173 and blue-chip DS30 shed over 3 points or 0.19 percent to 1,797.

So far issues traded, 120 advanced, 88 declined and 82 remained unchanged.

Beximco Ltd was the top turnover, followed by Beximco Pharmaceuticals, People Insurance, JMI Syringe, Bangladesh National Insurance Company Ltd, Rupali Insurance and Northern Insurance.
