9 firms named as top VAT payers

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Tuesday named nine firms based on payment of highest amount of value added tax (VAT) nationally in three categories for fiscal 2019-20 in an effort to honour top taxpayers in the country.

In production sector, Aristopharma, Square Toiletries and Maya Biri Factory have been identified as top VAT payers, NBR said in a gazette.

It announced names of SM Motors, AMCO Bajaj International and MABS Union Motors as the highest VAT payers in business category.

In services sector, the revenue board will award edotco Bangladesh, Grey Advertising (Bangladesh) and Robert Bosch (Bangladesh) for paying highest VAT.

In addition, NBR will recognise 102 firms from district level as they paid highest amount of VAT in the above mentioned three categories.
