Employees of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday besieged the offices of the company’s managing director (MD) and chief operating officer (COO) demanding various facilities including reinstatement of regular increment.
The angry staff took up position in front of the rooms of MD Tarique Amin Bhuiyan and COO M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar at around noon.
They alleged that a decision taken at a board meeting regarding the benefits of the employees has been reduced by the two officials by exerting influence.
The board, which approved a 4-percent dividend for the shareholders at the meeting, initially decided to give some facilities to the employees that have remained stopped for a long time. But, by exerting influence, the COO opposed the move, the employees alleged.
MD Tarique Amin Bhuiyan, when contacted by the Business Insider Bangladesh, the employees came to him to press for reinstatement of their increments as they have not been getting the facility for the last two years.
