Importer brings container full of foreign cigarettes instead of apple

Chattogram Custom House on Thursday seized 22.19 lakh sticks of cigarettes coming to Chattogram port from Abu Dhabi.

Salauddin Rizvi, deputy commissioner of Custom House, said Marhaba Fresh Food Limited, an importer of city’s Station Road, imported a container of fresh apple from Abu Dhabi under a bond facility, but they found cigarettes in the container, reports Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.

Chattogram Customs House Commissioner has directed to identify the culprits and take strict and exemplary punishment.
