Stocks rise steeply at open

Dhaka stocks rallied at open on Monday after peaking record highs in the previous session.

Thirty minutes into the trade on Monday, the benchmark DSEX gained 61 points or 1 percent to 5,680. It hit a 21-month peak in the previous session.

Other indices, the DSES moved up over 13 points or 1 percent to 1,313 and blue-chip DS30 gained 22 points or 1 percent to 2,101.

Like the previous session, most sectors and issues started the day with a positive note. Out of issues so far traded, 228 advanced, 50 declined and 49 remained unchanged.
